‘Tis a shorter holiday season! Shoppers are buying earlier at CVS®
In 2023, more than half of shoppers started browsing and buying in November.* Not wanting to miss out on one moment of the holiday season, many of our consumers started shopping early. This year, we expect the same buying behavior to be amplified. Having five fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas will create an urgency for shoppers to buy earlier — not spend less.

The week leading up to Christmas was #1 in sales for Beauty Care, Personal Care and General Merchandise.
Last year digital shoppers and digital orders grew +26% YoY.

From body lotion to batteries, baskets get bigger as shoppers buy across categories to finish up their shopping lists.
Dec. was #1 in sales
December was the #1 sales month for False Nails, Facial Care, Derm Moisturizers, Facial Kits, Candy, Snacks, Pet Toys, Toys and Stationary.
Nov. & Dec. — top 2 sales months
November & December were the top two sales months in 2023 for Hand & Body Lotions, Cookies, Batteries and Gift Cards.
Gift giving drove more trips
Holiday gifting expanded basket assortment and drove +29%
more trips YoY. Seasonal Gifting sales were +103%, Candles +67%,
Plush +40% and Photo saw 7% sales growth in December.
